With the rapid development and the urbanization of the Chinese society, more and more peasants are willing to work in cities. As the main forces of city construction, rural migrant workers, greatly promote the urban economy. However, as the vulnerable groups in the city, their city and social integration is not that good. We use three national survey data in the year of 2005, 2008 and 2011 to gauge the city integration degree, from the economic, social, psychological and cultural perspective, respectively. Furthermore, we pay attention on marketization’s impact on migrant’s integration to the city. This article applies with the factor analysis and the fuzzy set theory to estimate the level of migrant workers’ integration and the trend with the time goes. This study finds that firstly, the whole city integration degree increase with the time passes by, especially for the economic and social integration, while the increase of psychological and cultural integration are not significant; Secondly, the process of marketization is beneficial to migrant’s integration to the city, especially to the economic and social integration. This impact exerts from two aspects: direct and indirect effect. The marketization on one hand increases migrant’s integration degree through improving the economic and social environment, on the other, marketization is beneficial to migrant’s integration by changing the return of characteristics; Thirdly, marketization level has a significant negative effect on migrant’s identification of being an urbanite while has a positive impact on his/her identification of being an local. We then come up with some relevance policy recommendations based on our theoretical and empirical results as well as the contemporary institutional and policy background.
