With the needs of the national energy strategy, Chinese petroleum engineering and construction enterprises have taken the lead in entering the international oil and gas development market and participating in international competition. Now, E (Engineering) P (Procurement) C (Construction) contracting mode is widely used in international oil market. This mode has four characteristics:low cost, short time period, high quality and good economic benefit. It will help Contractor take full advantage of allocation and integration of resource and has become the mainstream mode in the area of international engineering project. This mode transfer more risks to contractor, which makes it become a risky and challenging mode for Contractor. In recent years, oversea business of China’s oil enterprises has developed rapidly. But the ability of risk management still needs to be improved because of lack of understanding and research. Based on the existing international EPC project risk management research as reference, in combination with the practical situation of different regions and the author’s practical experience, this thesis discusses the method of project risk management and the typical risk. The author expects to make a contribution to improving the ability of risk management and international competitiveness of China’s enterprise in international EPC project.The author’s main achievements are as follows:(1) Comprehensively overview about the research of EPC project risk management, analyze the characteristics of international petroleum engineering project, summarize the theory and method of project risk management and the right way to use proper methods for risk identification, risk assessment and risk response.(2) By using case study, documentary research and expert investigation, identify the potential risks in the natural gas pipeline compressor station EPC project of Uzbekistan, and establishes the risk list.(3) Establish the probability and impact matrix of risk assessment. Through the combination of qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis, analyze the typical risk in Uzbekistan and set up risk classification. Propose different solutions for typical risks.(4) Through analyzing the experiences of the author in the natural gas pipeline GCS compressor station project in Uzbekistan, in combination with the actual case, make empirical research on EPC project risk management achievements.The research of risk management of the natural gas pipeline & compressor station project in Uzbekistan in this thesis, not only has the practical significance to Chinese oil companies, which are implementing the oilfield development & pipeline construction in central Asia, but also plays a reference role to improve the level of risk management in other international EPC projects.
