Research On The Effect Mechanism Of Social Capital On Cluster Enterprise Innovation Performance

In the world today, with the in-depth development of information, networking and globalization, innovation cluster not only provides support for the member enterprise innovation activities, it is also an important source of national or regional competitiveness. Complex networks, and a lot of knowledge transfer is a major feature of innovation cluster, resources sharing and knowledge transfer between cluster enterprises has become a focus in the related research field. In the existing research, the scholars generally from the perspective of cluster enterprise to study the promoting mechanism of innovation performance, but the researches were less that from the overall perspective innovation cluster, exploration the positive influence by the development of related or supporting industries, the generation of new businesses and new technology in the process of cluster development, and the key role of cluster enterprise innovation performance improvement. Gao Xuelian (2009) suggested, cluster derivative effect provided the impetus for the development of the cluster, technology derivative effect promoted the generation of new technology and knowledge transfer efficiency, enterprise derivative showed growth of cluster in the number and size, it has a key role for the improvement of the industrial cluster.Through questionnaire, this research put the typical enterprises of Wenzhou auto parts industry cluster and the vehicle manufacturing industry cluster in Dalian bonded area as a sample for the data collection. Through the questionnaire distributed, recovery and screening, this research received 213 valid questionnaires. By using SPSS, the paper firstly made a descriptive statistical analysis of the data, and did the validity and reliability analysis, to ensure the research framework and data reliability and validity of the level, secondly to ensure that each variable convergent validity and discrimination validity has carried on the correlation analysis, the final regression analysis to test the hypothesis. This research mainly has the following conclusion:(1) A higher social capital level of cluster enterprises has a positive impact to promote the efficiency of knowledge transfer. On the relationship dimensions, by increasing the degree of trust and relationship between enterprises, knowledge transfer efficiency can be improved; on the structural dimension, by occupying a better network location, the knowledge acquisition ability of cluster enterprise can be promoted; on the cognitive dimension, by narrowing the gap in values, cultural identity and knowledge between enterprises, knowledge transfer efficiency can be improved.(2) Knowledge transfer has a partial intermediary role between social capital and innovation performance of cluster enterprises. Technology innovation activities between enterprises has the characteristics of exploratory and creative, enterprise innovation is a process of knowledge transfer and creation, innovation cluster provides knowledge acquisition environment for the enterprise, and through the knowledge transfer process for digestion, absorption and utilization, and promote enterprise’s innovation performance.(3) Cluster derivative effect play a regulatory role between knowledge transfer and innovation performance of cluster enterprise. In a clustered environment, technology derived effect accelerates the speed and scope of technological innovation, technological innovation and knowledge diffusion in industry cluster; Enterprise derivative effect is the expansion on the quantity and scale of the industrial cluster, and play an important role on perfecting the supply chain of industrial cluster, and then expand and enrich the scope and channels of knowledge transfer.To promote innovation performance of enterprise cluster as a starting point, the social capital as an important characteristic of industrial clusters, Wenzhou auto parts industry cluster and the vehicle manufacturing industry cluster in Dalian bonded area as a sample, this paper examines the impact mechanism of social capital on the innovation performance of cluster enterprise. This study verifies the knowledge transfer play a partial intermediary role between social capital and innovation performance, at the same time, the unique derivative effect of industrial cluster is divided into enterprise derivative effect of enterprise perception and technology derivative effect of enterprise perception, and examine the moderating effect of the both between social capital and cluster enterprise innovation performance. The study found that knowledge transfer and derivative effect played an important role in the formation and operation of innovation cluster. Finally, through the analysis of research conclusion, this paper concluded management implications that has the guiding significance to the practice, and points out the deficiency of this study.
