Many countries have gradually entered the aging population, there is a growing concern on aging population, it will also become a huge challenge facing the world. China has already appeared this problem in the 1999 and the number of fast-growing elderly population. By the end of 2000, China’s elderly population over 60 years of age have 126 million, the proportion of the total population is 10.2%, to 2013, the number of people aged over 60 has reached 202 million, accounting for 14.9 percent of the total population. In 2014, China has about 130 million people (one tenth) older than 65 years. Beijing become an aged society of the time in 1990, earlier than the national society into old age nine times. According to the Beijing Statistical Information Network data, Beijing in 1990 has entered the aging society. With the growing elderly population, how to deal with the aging problem for Beijing is a severe test. Beijing is Chinese capital, belongs to the country’s first-tier cities, Beijing’s aging population has its own characteristics. Because the elderly in physiology, the heart will occur in varying degrees of change, an aging population will bring a series of social, economic issues, it will also affect consumption in Beijing. How to deal with adverse factors brought about an aging population, to take positive measures to transform negative factors into new opportunities for development has also become a problem we must consider.A content of this paper is the relationship between population aging and consumption structures, and explains how population aging affects consumption structure. Primarily to analyze the structure of the population changes and changes in consumption structure of Beijing, according to the Beijing six census data and the Beijing Statistical Yearbook provided and Correlation analysis between the two, in order to study the aging population to the consumption structure impact. For the study of the relationship, mainly adopted two methods of qualitative and quantitative methods, quantitative methods take gray correlation analysis method to calculate the degree of correlation between the elderly population and consumption structure, and the conclusion is population aging and health care related degree greatest correlation with minimal food, came in second, third and fourth place respectively, living, education and entertainment products and services and clothing. Make recommendations to optimize the consumption structure of Beijing in accordance with the conclusions should be three-pronged approach. First:to actively develop silver market, stimulate consumption of older persons; second:establish a sound pension system, so that older people can spend their remaining years; the third:to improve the elderly health care construction, medical problems make the elderly no longer a problem.
