In recently years, with the rapid development of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)industry, the safe problem of the operation of CNG stations have become increasingly prominent. It becomes more and more important to urban social public security that how to prevent and manage security risks and how to make emergency plan. This thesis, Ordos Thonghui New Clean Energy Co.Ltd gas station project as the research object, on the basis of risk management theory, identify the operation risk of the project and assess the probability of the risk factors and potential losses, put forward the measures which how to reduce the risk of project operation. The main research results were as follows:1. Through the Expert Investigation Method to initial identify the risk factors of CNG station, identified 12 risk factors. According to the function of the component of CNG station, decompose the CNG station into outside the station system and inside system. Using The System Failure Mode Effects Analysis Principle to identify the risk factors, identified the failure modes, failure reasons and risk factors on this system. Using analysis of cause and effect diagram method showed set of risk factors of each subsystem, construct the risk identification framework.2. The fault tree analyzing method was put forward as the analysis method for analyzing CNG station’s risk in runtime. This thesis obtained the important degree of each system of CNG station safety influence factors by establishing and qualitative analyzing the fault tree.3. This thesis put forward to response measure and established a risk response plan, it provided the reference for the whole project and even the natural gas industry to reasonably reduce and prevent the risk.
