High-tech companies are knowledge-intensive, technology-intensive economic entity, which can bring higher economic and social benefits over the average level with the success of the core product or technology. After nearly three decades of development, with high permeability, high value-added, high growth rates and other characteristics, high-tech industry not only promote the transformation and upgrading of our industry, but also for China’s economic development has provided a major boost. High-tech industry undergoes tow stages in our country:the military industry accumulation phase and the technology and foreign capital introduction and promotion stages after the reform and opening-up policy, in the process of China’s high-tech industry has laid a foundation. However, this approach does not allow the domestic high-tech industry to seize the initiative in the context of economic globalization, "low-end locking" problem gradually emerged, while international technology companies are starting to improve vigilance, relying solely on the "introduction-digestion-absorption "approach has been difficult to continue to narrow the gap between domestic high-tech enterprises and international advanced high-tech enterprises, but also easy to fall into" There is growth without development "embarrassment.In such case, as a leading position in the domestic industry, domestic high-tech enterprises must transition to a higher position-based potential, and play a locomotive role of innovation-driven in promoting industrial upgrading process, and change the situation which has to expense environment or rely cheap labor or low-cost competition, while continuing to improve their competitive advantage.Diferent from traditional enterprise strategic management, corporate ecology ideas and research paradigms, this paper another way to analyze high-tech enterprise position-based potential transition connotation and mode from the perspective of network embeddedness, and put forward a research propoeiton which is "high-tech enterprise position-based potential transition mode from the perspective of network embeddedness". This paper use multi-case analysis with four case of high-tech enterprises. Firstly, the author establish a preliminary theoretical framework and built the high-tech enterprise position-based potential transition mode from the perspective of network embeddedness after sourcing and carding of relevant literatures, and combining with domestic high-tech enterprise technological catch-up, international, upgrade and other cutting-edge reality. Secondly, the author makes a deep analysis of four typical enterprises, and extracts the periodic enterprise behavior characteristics, and summing up typical high-tech enterprise position-based potential transition mode. Finally, through the case study to compare position-based potential transition’characteristics of four enterprises and to verify and . correct the theoretical model, which provides a theoretical guidance for the domestic high-tech enterprise position-based potential transition.Through the research, this paper get following conclusions:(1) position-based potential transition is that through grasping of the timing window and integrating of internal and external resources to beyond competitors or subvert competition, and leapfrogging to a higher position-based potential from a lower position-based potential. (2) "Position-based potential" is a temporary "equilibrium state", and "transition" is to break the oid "equilibrium state" and jump to a position-based potential, the result is to produce a new "equilibrium state". (3) Under the perspective of network embeddedness, combining with grasping of the timing window, and using both technical and market dimensions to analyze characteristics of high-tech enterprise position-based potential transition. And putting forward two high-tech enterprise position-based potential transition modes, which is pioneering position-based potential transition mode and adaptive position-based potential transition mode. (4) Pioneering position-based potential transition mode tend to exhibit proactive market orientation and explorative innovation characteristics, and to use the endogenous timing window to transition. They often based on continuously meet the emerging market demand as the goal to search for new market and develop new knowledge and technology with creativity, adventure, variation and experiment. If successful will be quickly capture the market and build customer brand awareness, it is difficult for competitors to imitate. (5) Adaptive position-based potential transition mode tend to exhibit responsive market orientation and exploitative innovation characteristics, and to use the exogenous timing window to transition. Its main objective is to better meet existing market demand, mainly on existing knowledge and technology for deep excavation or extension with mining, copy, improve and practice. They are easily recognized by customers, emphasis on the existing market demand is more sensitive and more accurate response. (6) There may be more than one position-based potential transition mode in the enterprise’s development process.This paper selected four typical representative of the high-tech enterprises as research samples, which is also the representative of position-based potential transition. This paper analyz high-tech enterprise position-based potential transition mode from the perspective of network embeddedness, it can rich enterprise position-based potential theory, but also provide a meaningful reference for the domestic high-tech enterprise growth upgrades.
