Chinese boycott foreign goods and advocate buying domestics’ campaign occurs frequently in recent years which has a great impact on Chinese national enterprises and foreign economic relationship and caused extensive discussions of academic. However, domestics’ campaign is not the original; it had been carrying out for nearly four decades early in the 20 th century. Nanyang Brothers Tobacco Company is a typical successful national enterprise in modern times. History as a mirror, one can know the rise and fall. Discuss the relationship between domestic campaign and Nanyang Brothers Tobacco Company can answer these questions: Whether domestics’ campaign will promote the development of Chinese national enterprises? Are Chinese people should pursue confused domestics’ movement?Firstly, this article reviews the history of domestics’ campaign, from the creation to growth period, expounds the process of transformation from boycott of foreign products to promote national product; and collects the historical data of The Nanyang Brothers Tobacco Company, reproduces the establishment and development of the company. Secondly, using AHP model to assess the appraisement of the development level of domestics’ campaign, make the index quantifiable. Third, by comparing the estimate value of domestics’ campaign with operating profit and sales values of The Nanyang Brothers Tobacco Company, we can draw a conclusion: On the one hand, the domestic movement provides the opportunity for national enterprises to survive; on the other hand, its influence on the national enterprises is limited, since the domestics’ campaign is random and short-term. Finally, the article summarizes the influencing factors of the development of The Nanyang Brothers Tobacco Company: advanced management mode, flexible advertising strategy, continuous improvement of product quality, government funding policy and the promotion of domestics’ campaign. At the end of the paper, author analyzes the practical significance of domestics’ campaign which provide the opportunity of the rise of The Nanyang Brothers Tobacco Company.Through the research on the relationship between domestics’ campaign and The Nanyang Brothers Tobacco Company, this paper argues that the boycott behavior is not recommended in nowadays, on the contrary, we advocate free trade. At last the paper offers certain references for the national enterprises to enhance their competitive.
