The rapid development of urbanization and industrialization in China led to more rural population shifting to urban and the rural construction land developed the situation of " increase rather than decrease ". In simple terms, the hollow village is a village with a large number of vacant land, but no one to live in. The reason why arising the hollow village is that the poor rural living environment management, the transfer of rural population to urban, the rural homestead planning and lack of management, rural land use results of uncontrolled expansion. So, scientifically to promote the comprehensive improvement of the hollow village, return to field and forest, protect the people’s livelihood, with the great potential of optimizing rural construction land and increasing the cultivated land area. Accurately calculating the renovation potential of hollow village is a important initiative of safeguarding the cultivated land red line and practicing the new rural construction strategy, contributing to promote the rapid and healthy development of China’s urbanization and industrialization. The successful launch of GF-1 satellite not only can fully exert the satellite application potential, but also be beneficial to the study of ecological resources and environment in our country, and promote the development and application of independent research remote sensing satellite in our country.This study is based on the subject of "the twelfth five year" national science and technology support plan, selects the typical plain area in Sangzhuangtown, Dengzhou, Henan, uses 2 m resolution GF-1 satellite image as the data source, applys the object-oriented information extraction technology and landscape connectivity analysis technology based on habitat patches, relatively deeply analyzes and researches the hollow village renovation potential problems. The main research work and innovative results in this paper as described below.To preprocess the GF-1 satellite image of the study area based on ENVI software platform, to extract water, roads, farmland, forest land, the low renovation potential construction land and the high renovation potential construction land using eCognition software by the object-oriented information extraction technology. This study uses the landscape connectivity analysis technology based on Conefor Sensinode software, to calculate the landscape index of the high renovation potential construction from the classification results (including the integral index of connectivity ⅡC, probability of connectivity index PC and important value of patches dPC), to analyze the connectivity degree and spatial distribution about the high renovation potential construction land in village, and evaluate the renovation potential of hollow village. Research results turned out that:(1) On the village scales, hollowing phenomenon exists in each village, the area of the high renovation potential construction land in each village of the research area shows that:the smallest accounted is 9.75% of the village construction land area, the largest accounted is 37.79% of the village construction land area, the average is about 28.22% of the village construction land area. Therefore, each village has a certain potential.(2) The integral of connectivity and probability of connectivity in the high renovation potential construction land have a consistent variation trend, which high value shows that the high renovation potential construction land in village has good connectivity, low degree of fragmentation, and more concentrated distribution, and the low value indicates that the high renovation potential construction land in village has poor connectivity, high degree of fragmentation, more scattered space layout.(3) According to analyzing the patches dPC value of the high renovation potential construction land, it shows that the core patches are better connectivity, larger area, and more concentrated distribution. So this more concentrated distribution kind of construction land should be focused on the priority for renovation, which not only can save the cost of renovation, but also can reduce the difficulty of regulation and improve the efficiency of renovation. In a word, using the research methods of this article, applying the landscape connectivity analysis technology to the evaluation of the high renovation potential construction land, which can obtain the spatial distribution and accumulation degree of the high renovation potential construction land, in addition, the experiment proves the effectiveness of the method about analyzing and evaluating the hollow village renovation potential.
