With the improvement of socio-economic level, the urbanization construction has accelerated in China. For instance, the size of cities increasingly expanding and the population, property and industries are concentrating. In recent years, there are various natural disasters, like earthquakes, floods and landslides, to take place frequently, which has brought the significant losses of life and poverty to people in the disaster areas. However, many materials cannot be transported to the victims of a natural calamity in time. It is shown that the capabilities of emergency logistics distribution are on the weak phase in our country in the face of natural disasters. According to the practical work of the existing emergency logistics distribution system in China, it is worth to further study on the planning and the system construction of the urban emergency logistics distribution system at the strategic level.In this paper, the background of significant natural disasters in the city, based on the system dynamics theory, urban logistics distribution system in the face of uncertainty, nonlinear and time-varying characteristics, according to material distribution for low efficiency, and so on, on urban emergency logistics distribution system modeling and simulation. First analyzes the characteristics of urban emergency logistics and distribution patterns and processes of the system, followed by simple introduction to System Dynamics theory and modeling steps and as representatives of actual case emergency logistics distribution system development status quo and existing problems. On this basis, the city emergency logistics distribution system was a system boundary analysis and causality analysis, transport delays and information and by introducing a dynamic delay, running in a dynamic environment for the city’s emergency logistics distribution system model is established. Using Vensim software to the model for the simulation of a number of programs to improve, according to the simulation results of program evaluation, based on the simulation results of the city’s emergency distribution logistics distribution system optimization recommendations.Emergency logistics distribution process based on cities of the factors, more intuitive, effective urban development to find problems and shortcomings in emergency logistics distribution system, so as to give advice, the city’s emergency logistics distribution system of higher quality research related to a theoretical level, as well as improves the logistics system simulation application in real life.
