With the acceleration of global intelligence, domestic power grid construction and transformation, Chinese transformer industry has entered a high-speed development period. Currently, foreign power equipment manufacturing enterprises have become an important competitive force in Chinese transformer high-end market. Meanwhile, domestic enterprises blindly invested in the production, which led to more intense homogeneity competition in domestic market. With the Chinese economy into a new normal, it is imperative to transform and upgrade in domestic transformer industry.In this context, as a leading private high-tech enterprise, H Hunan Province transformer manufacturing company must promptly adjust their development strategy and improve its competitiveness. Therefore, in the new normal the study on H Company’s development strategy is not only to provide important practical basis for its sustainable development, but provide the theoretical support for the development of other companies in the same industry.Based on the analysis of the macro environment, industry environment and internal environment, the paper builds a SWOT matrix to take full advantages of the company’s brand, technical resources, innovation, sophisticated marketing capabilities and other advatages and to overcome the higher operating costs and other disadvantages. Moreover, it grasps the opportunities such as market growth and the turning point of transformation and upgrading and reduces the threats of the global competition in transformer industry. Then combining with company’s strategic goals, it uses the growth-oriented development strategy and formulates an appropriate company’s overall development strategy:strategic alliances, related diversification strategy, international strategy, and selects competitive differentiation strategies. On the basis of the selecting of the strategic development, the paper formulates these specific safeguard measures which focus on the characteristics of corporate culture construction, construction of dynamic organization and management, creating an excellent team, remaining technological innovation, implementing of lean production and improve the quality system, improving the financial management system and target management system, accelerating the construction of information technology and improve marketing shares to implement the company’s development strategy. All in all, the new development strategy will guide the company’s transformation from a single supplier to intelligent products supplier.
