Studies On Rural Villager’s Non-agricultural Employment

The speed that rural labor forces shift from agricultural department to nonagricultural department is not only an important index to measure modern development degree of a country but is closely related to the increasing farmers’income,and,development of rural economy and the progress of urbanization. Hunan province is a large agricultural province where rural labor forces take up a large population of it.However,its farmlands are quite limited. With the development and widespread use of mechanized farming,a large quantity of rural labor forces are released.In order to know more about rural labor forces that act as a main factor in nonagricultural employment and then lead the forces transfer to better orientations, I refer to many materials and make full use of the investigation data which obtained from Hengyang, Yueyang,Changde and other places in Hunan province.Details of present situation, characteristics and causes of rural labor forces who are employed in nonagricultural departments are included in my thesis.At the same time,it analyses the factors which have a deep influence on rural labor forces’employment by using Logit model.The results indicate that sex,age,the number of teenagers in family of rural areas and social relationships play an important role in the process.While, tinfluences including the size of farmlands,incom per year and the number of family labor forces are decreasing.According to these researches, the thesis puts forward some practical suggestions on promoting rural labor forces to find appropriate jobs in government,society and other respects.For example The household registration system reform to speed up the process, Establish a sound social security system of migrant workers,to develop the labor intermediary organizations.strengthen the rural labor force education and training, employment information network to establish a good system, and so on.
