Under the background of global economic situation, domestic financial supervision becomes more rigorous than before. The domestic financial system reform needs to be deepened constantly, considering the impact of the internet-based financing on the banking industry. In recent years, competition faced by the banking industry becomes increasingly fierce. High staff quality is necessary for commercial banks to maintain competitiveness. As a bridge between clients and banks, account managers become important human resources for commercial banks. Therefore, the account manager becomes the key training object of the state-owned commercial banks.The object of this study is J Branch of The Postal Savings Bank of China, which is founded at the end of 2008. The account manager, as the direct creator of profits, plays a decisive role in the fast development of J Branch of Postal Savings Bank of China. Based on the field investigation, the study analyzes data and information of the account manager training in J branch. Then, several problems are found according to the results. Focusing on the problems, the author put forward a series of optimized suggestions, aiming to guide the improvement of account manager training.This paper first introduces the background, significance, and proposed methods, ideas and innovations. Then the concept of training and the account manager is introduced through literature review. Moreover, the latest research results about training at home and abroad are summarized. Based on the data obtained by the questionnaire and interview survey, some problems of training are found including unsatisfactory training needs analysis, ambiguous goal setting, over simple training plan and incomplete training evaluation system, etc. All the problems are related to inadequate investment and unsound training system of J branch. In order to solve the problems existing in the account manager training of J branch, the latest research achievements are applied to the optimization design of the account manager training system. Finally, with comprehensive analysis and advanced theory as the foundation, the study is completed with significant conclusion. To improve the quality of the account manager training in J branch of The Postal Savings Bank of China, the optimization design in this study is put forward based on the original account manager training system.Compared with the previous studies on the account manager training in domestic state-owned commercial banks, the present study innovatively analyzes the problems of the account manager training in J branch through questionnaire and interview survey for the first time. Otherwise, the study, for the first time, applies ’The Soft Power Model of the Wealth-Management Manager of Commercial Bank’ to training demand survey in order to improve the curriculum and evaluation system of account manager training. The results of this study can be used to solve the problems existing in the process of the account manager training of J bank of The Postal Savings Bank of China, which could also provide some reference for other state-owned commercial banks.
