Weichang Manchu & Mongolian Autonomous County Of Economic Development Present Situation And Countermeasure Research

Economy of minority country is an important part of country-leveled economy. The development of economy in minority country plays an significant role in promoting the development of country-leveled economy as a whole, improving people’living standard in minority area, and realizing the national goal of building a moderately prosperous society.This paper takes a minority autonomous country which legs behind others in Hebei Province, Weichang Autonomous Country of Manchu and Mongol, as the object of research. It utilizes a combination of related theories from regional economics, development economics, industrial economics, etc, and adopts the combined research methods of theoretical analysis and positive analysis, historical document analysis, and comparative analysis. Through the description of current situation in Weichang Autonomous Country, including the aspects of natural and cultural environment, economic aggregate, industry structure and characteristic industries, it comes to the conclusion that the economy in this country has made great progress after 20 years’development, still there exists a distinct gap between this country and other countries in Hebei Province. Based on the analysis, this paper takes that there are five main problem in the development of this target country: low economic aggregate and low level of per capita; irrational industry structure and lack of leading industry; low productivity of agricultural labor and distinct dual structure; poor competitiveness of characteristic industry; low level of urbanization. Afterwards, this paper discusses the five reasons of the five above-mentioned problems:low market growth degree and out-dated concept; low level of industrialization and short industrial chain; low quality of population and shortage of human resources; inconvenient transportation in this mountainous area; low brand awareness of characteristic industry. And lastly, this paper gives 5 countermeasures to solve the problems in the process of development in Weichang: to create good employment environment to attract and cultivate human capital; to reinforce the infrastructure construction and improve investment environment; enhance the level of industrialization and build characteristic industrial brand; develop ecological economy and realize green transformation; take the full advantage of national preferential policies and supportive policies.
