Research On Supplier Management With A Chain Supermarket

In recent years, with the economic development and transformation of people’s shopping concept, the chain supermarket has entered a rapid development stage as well as a stage of intense competition. In order to make the chain supermarket adapt to market and improve its competitiveness, supplier management is a part that can not be ignored. Supplier’s good cooperation can ensure that thousands of items are supplied punctually and continually to meet the customer’s needs and achieve sustainable development of the supermarket. To achieve good management of suppliers, it is necessary to establish a set of supplier management system. This paper studies A supermarket, analyzes the main problems that exists in its supplier management, and then puts forward some relevant suggestions and solutions.Firstly, this paper analyzes the current supplier management situation of A supermarket from three aspects:supplier selection, performance evaluation and the relationship maintenance. Then it is found that the problems exist in the supermarket supplier selection and supplier performance evaluation; secondly, using the method of AHP, the appropriate indicators are selected to solve problems in its supplier selection; finally, to solve problems in its supplier performance evaluation, nine indicators are chosen from three aspects:product level, delivery capabilities and service level. Through the survey questionnaire, the corresponding index data about A chain supermarket are obtained and using gray clustering evaluation method, a comprehensive analysis is conducted to the eleven suppliers of A chain supermarket. After that some suggestions about its supplier performance evaluation are given in this paper.
