As the vigorous development of China’s automobile industry, a sharp rise happened in production and ownership of cars, with the rapid growth of the number of end-of-life vehicles(ELVs). The recycling of ELVs not only has huge environmental and economic benefits, but also can reduce potential traffic dangers, which promote the sustainable development of the automotive industry. To effectively recycle ELVs, it is very importan t to build an efficient reverse logistics. In this paper, the reverse logistics of ELVs recycling would be discussed in third-party form.Firstly, the paper introduced the meaning of reverse logistics, the meaning of take-back modes and theories about rese arch logistics network, and pointed out that the existing research mainly about single product and remanufacturing process would not meet the actual demand of the recycling of ELVs. Secondly, the paper introduced the structures of reverse logistics system, and illustrated the characteristics of three take-back modes of vehicle-the type of single manufacturer, the one of manufacturers in union and third-party form detailedly. The reverse logistics network was analyzed based on structures, functions and optim ization methods. Then, the reverse logistics were built in third-party form, which contains a variety of products and two main resources approach including remanufacturing and recycling. Mixed integer liner programming(MILP) was used to solve the reverse logistics network optimization model, in order to determine the quantities and locations and optimal paths of the center of dismantling and re-manufacturing center. At last, the reverse logistics network optimization model was used to solve an actual case, which was solved by Lingo software. This paper provided a new method for the facility location of Reverse Logistics Network of ELVs.
