In recent years, with the development of economy and the progress of communication technology, as well as the change of people’s ways of communications, the communication industry has become one of the important industries which are leading the global economic development. Now in China, the communication industry which accounts for a large part of GDP has also become the powerful driving force pushing the growth for GDP. Currently, due to the ever-changing and complicated international economic environment, a lot of communication companies in the world are learning lessons from the successful enterprises which are engaged in diversified businesses, so as to develop multi-services through constant practice and exploration and to exert to find one kind of business model which is able to both reduce business risk and make full use of available recourse and advantages. However, while the international communication companies are making profits through diversification strategy, China’s counterparts are facing a great deal of problems on their road to achieve diversified development. The main reasons why the above problems come up are that the domestic communication companies ignored the adaption of organizational structure and diversification strategy, so the problems in the organizational structure are making obstacles for the diversified development of communication companies. Therefore, reasonable optimization of organizational structure can improve the development of diversification strategy as well as exert importance to the long-term development for the domestic communication companies.The thesis mainly focuses on the research of the D communication company which is a growing company with the rapid development of China’s economy. Since established in 2009, it has grown up at high speed from a small company conducting single business to a large-scale diversified developing enterprise which regards communication as its core business while expanding other subsidiary businesses. Though its business and scale are expanding, the problems of organizational structure of D Co. have been gradually obvious day by day, which has badly influenced its daily business operation and become a main stumbling block for its diversified development. In order to solve the problems resulted from the diversification strategy of organizational structure for D Co., the research of the thesis is stated from the four aspects as follows: Firstly, it focuses on the research of THEORY which mainly covers the diversification strategy, the organizational structure, the definition of optimization of the organizational structure as well as the relationship between the diversification strategy and the organizational structure. Secondly, it is concerned with the current situation and problems of optimizing organizational structure based on diversification strategy in China. Thirdly, it pays attention to the present status, the problems and its reasons of organizational structure of D company. Last but not the least, it tells how D company designed its project for the optimization of organizational structure while making an analysis to its process of putting this project into practice.As one of the representative company in communication industry, D company has successfully designed many plans for optimizing organizational structure which are not only adaptable to its features and the requirements of diversification strategy, but also beneficial to such communication enterprises applying diversification strategy to provide them with theoretical and practical reference, so as to make its own contributions to the development of China’s telecom industry.
