With the rapid development of social economy, increasing market competition, and the uncertainty of the risk market, the modern project management was widely used in the geological exploration as a management system and method. The project management was only used to control the capital goods and often neglected the value of human resources in the past. Because of the project relying more and more on the working enthusiasm and creativity of the members, the project human resource allocation emerged as the times require and plays a key role in the success of the project. The purpose of this study is searching a method of human resource allocation for engineering project management to maximize the efficiency of the project team and achieve maximum benefit. The purpose of this study is searching a method of human resource allocation for engineering project management by analyzing and summarizing the main factors of the successful engineering project management. It makes us have a comprehensive and new understanding for the human resource management of engineering project. Besides, it also provides a new train of thought for the effective management of the engineering project. This paper made a comprehensive and profound analysis on the human resource allocation for engineering project management by combining a large number of related theories and literature at home and aboard with work experience. Firstly, this paper made an actual analysis on the human resource allocation for engineering project management of survey and design institute by introducing some basic conception on the human resource allocation, main influences factors, project planning and so on. Secondly, it mainly studied on the organizational structure, human resource structure, project team building, etc. by combining with advanced project management theory and the theory of human resource management. The results shows that there are a lot of problems in the human resource allocation such as lack of human resources planning, configuration of specialization is not strong, the core project personnel is not enough, imperfect system configuration issue and so on. At last it proposed that improvement program of the human resource allocation, this may play a positive role to the human resources management of the survey and design institute’s engineering project.
