Most existing research on factors of employees’ innovative behavior developed from the organizational level and the leadership level, one of the few factors on the individual level discussion focused on individual motivation, individual goal orientation, etc.. There is few research on the relationship between critical thinking, as an individual trait, and employees’ innovative behavior. It is the lack of in-depth research on intermediary mechanisms and adjustment factors between critical thinking and employees’ innovative behavior.Based on the understanding of existing research gaps, on the view of social cognitive theory, this study sought to investigate the mechanism of critical thinking’s effect on employees’ innovative behavior. With the extensive literature review, we constructed a regulating effect model agency and explored the mediating role of knowledge sharing and the moderating role of self-efficacy. Using questionnaires to 280 employees conducted a questionnaire survey and data analysis, the results showed that:(1) the critical thinking and employees’ innovative behavior was significantly positively related;(2) knowledge sharing intention plays a partial intermediary role in the effect of critical thinking on employees’ innovative behavior;(3) self-efficacy significantly moderated the positive relationships between critical thinking and knowledge sharing intention as well as employees’ innovative behavior;(4) knowledge sharing intention mediated the interactive effect of critical thinking and self-efficacy on employees’ innovative behavior such that the research model is a mediated-moderation model. This study broadens the research areas of critical thinking theory, from the individual level reveals the mechanism of critical thinking on employees’ innovative behavior, and provides a reference management practices value for enterprise managers to stimulate employees’ innovative behavior.
