Today external competitive pressures faced by foundry is growing, foundry wants to strengthen the workshop production management and improve enterprise efficiency by means of information technology. In this paper, online sand casting workshop management is proposed to help foundry improve sand casting management. Online management is a sand casting workshop informational management program that using enterprise server as information storage center, enterprise local area network as transmission media, real-time production information feedback and problem handling.Firstly, the problems of sand casting workshop production management currently faced by foundry and how information management further into the production site are analyzed to prove the necessity of implementation of online management. At the same time, the theoretical basis for the online management: information integration from ERP and production process real-time tracking from MES are elaborated.Secondly, the online management program structure is designed based on the theoretical basis and the business processes are elaborated. Production information integration and its business processes design, production tracking and its business process and program data stream are also elaborated. Then the software system is developed, the system is divided into sand casting, casting finishing, production tracking and user rights in four parts. Each part is made up of several modules. Task-driven approach is used to transfer production information among each module. Key technologies used for collecting and transmitting real-time production information are also described.Finally, combined with the result of the implement in the sand casting workshop WH Foundry Co. Ltd, practicability of online management is proved. The results show that the application of the scheme status inquiry, pre-production scheduling and quality traceability and other aspects has been significantly improved than before.
