Slab heating is an important step in the product of hot-rolling mill, which provide qualified slabs gratifying the request of the rolling process. The main mission of the slab reheating furnace is heating the slab to a required temperature with the lowest energy consuming and environment pollution. Slab exiting temperature is one of the main quality control variables of slab reheating furnace. With the development of steel technology, the control accuracy of Slab exiting temperature is more important than before. So more and more people from all over the world do a lot of work in theory and practice for furnace control technology to achieve break through.First, the article briefly describes the status of furnace heating control system research, the development trends, and the difficulty in the control and optimization of the furnace heating system.Secondly, the article describes the product process of the reheating furnace and the problems we meet. Function describe of furnace heating level 1 and level 2 system and point out the defects of the system.Finally, we find the temperature parameter of control PID at nonlinear step can not satisfied the requirement of the environment changing. So we put forward to adopt fuzzy strategy building up PID to control nonlinear step. According to the structure and function requirements of furnace heating system, I put forward to the whole control strategy including settle methods and a fuzzy PID stove. Use the fuzzy PID controller the temperature actual values follow the set point values very well. Facts prove that the fuzzy PID control method is more effective and practical.
