The modern steel plate production control technology is moving towards more automation and information technology, more advanced detection instruments, more perfect control strategy, more advanced equipment diagnosis technology.This paper mainly studies the electrical automation control system of the 4200/3500mm of the eight-one Steel Corp of Baosteel Group, covering the field line detection components, basic automation, picture monitoring and diagnosis system, process control system from the heating furnace to the collection area.According to the production process and control characteristics of the wide thick plate, the automatic control of medium and heavy plate production line is divided into basic automation system L1 and process automation system L2. The L2 system is the upper system. As a process computer system, the model is calculated and analyzed.The design of the entire production line for the key in the production of medium and heavy plate, roll control is the key. This system adopts single stand reversible rolling mill rolling, press down device adopts electric and hydraulic combined control mode:two systems, electric and seam control accuracy of the system is below the hydraulic roll gap control system. But because of the limitation of hydraulic roll gap control system of the implementing agencies--hydraulic cylinder stroke, general in the mill by two sets of systems common roll gap setting method, the main idea of the method:in of large stroke of the press, first of all by the electric pressure control system the rough location of the large stroke, followed by the hydraulic pressure control system for short distance precision positioning. In the rolling process, the AGC function of the hydraulic pressure control system is performed.
