Self-polishing acrylate antifouling coatings are the best solution to the marine biofouling.Because of the chemical structure of polyacrylic, the antifouling coatings offer the same strategy in different marine situation,which will waste the biocide,cut down the useful time of coating, and be harmful to environment. To solve this problem, this study found out the relation between monomer and polishing speed by rotor test, and then designed a new antifouling polymer, which was prepared by grafting polyacrylic into cellulose and was given a sensitivity of biofouling.The full-grown zinc acrylic tin-free antifouling coating and silicon acrylic tin-free antifouling coatings were chosen to study the impact of the difference of monomers and fillers on the change of antifouling property during rotor test. The characterization was provided by thickness tester and contact angle meter. As a result, the improving of polymer or the reduction of function monomer will lead to the reducing of polishing speed, and the contribution to the hydrophilic is 2-EMA >EA> MMA>BA.Based on the study before, the ethyl cellulose(EC) and zinc acrylate monomer were used to synthesis a new polymer. And then the chemical structure proven by the FT-IR and 1H-NMR was the same as the design.Finally, it was proven that the new polymer could adjust to the different situation by static immersing test. And the influence of difference of grafting ratio and content of zinc acrylate monomer to the hydrolysis property of the new polymer was figured out by monitoring the rate of mass change. The improving of grafting rate will lead to the improving of sensitivity, and the improving of function monomer will lead to the improving of polishing speed in high pollution environment.
