Poacynumhendersonii is widely distributed in Xinjiang area.Its leaves have been used to make tea or applied on herbal extract,but the stem was largely abandoned.Many kinds of natural polysaccharide have good effects on moisture retention performance and sensory quality of tobacco.However,there are reports rarely about the stems or polysaccharide of Poacynumhendersonii.At the same time,the application of polysaccharide on tobacco has not been reported.Single factor experiment was used to analyze the factors affecting conventional extraction and ultrasonic extraction.And the free radical scavenging capacity of polysaccharides obtained by two methods was compared.Response surface methodology was used to optimize the ultrasonic extraction process which had relative advantage.In addition,the effect of polysaccharides on the moisture retention performance of cut tobacco was studied.The pyrolysis products of cut tobacco before and after adding the polysaccharide was analyzed by py-gcms and their effect on the sensory evaluation of cigarettes was analyzed.The main results are as follows:Ultrasonic extraction improved extraction yield of and reduced extraction time of polysaccharides.Polysaccharides from Poacynum stems by ultrasonic extraction had advatages in free radical scavenging ability compared to that by conventional extraction.The liquid material ratio,ultrasonic time,extraction times had significant effect on extraction yield,ultrasonic intensity had significant effects on extraction rate.The optimum extraction process of polysaccharide was as follows: solid-liquid ratio 15:1,ultrasonic intensity 35%*1kw,extraction time 45 min,extraction times 2,polysaccharide extraction rate was 1.565% under this condition.5 monosaccharides in polysaccharides were determinated by ion chromatography: Arabia sugar(0.61mg/g),galactose(1.21mg/g),glucose(1.62mg/g),xylose(0.75mg/g),mannose(0.39mg/g).The water loss and water absorption rate of cut tobacco which were added different concentration of polysaccharide to were analyzed: Polysaccharide in Poacynumhendersonii stem had good moisturizing effect on tobacco.With the increase of the addition amount of polysaccharide,the water absorption rate of tobacco was increased and the water loss rate was decreased.When the addition amount of polysaccharide achieve 12mg*2mL/100 mL,the water absorption curve and the water loss rate curve no longer changed obviously.The addition of polysaccharides had slow release effect on pyrolysis products of tobacco shred.It was found that the furan,furan ketones,ketones and cyclic ketones had direct effects on the roasted sweet potato of tobacco.After the addition of polysaccharides,the contents of ketones in the pyrolysis products decreased,while the contents of furan ketones,cyclic ketones and furan compounds increased significantly.The furfural aldehydes gave sweet aroma to the flue-cured tobacco,and geraniol had rose fragrance.After the addition of polysaccharide,furfural aldehydes and geraniol in the pyrolysis products increased obviously.The addition of a certain amount of polysaccharide could improve the sensory perception.While excessive amount made some of the sensory indicators score decreased.
