The hydrogen adsorption tower is the key equipment in a petrochemical hydrogen pressure swing adsorption unit,is subjected to mechanical stress of pressure vessel stress cycle.The stress cycle to produce higher stress intensity levels,leading to mechanical fatigue failure.The hydrogen adsorption tower of this paper approaches the design service life,using the ANSYS numerical model is established,the law of stress distribution of hydrogen adsorption tower,the fatigue life is estimated,and the use of nondestructive testing methods,comparison of predicted value and experimental value,to ensure the safe operation of hydrogen adsorption tower.This research mainly uses the ANSYS finite element analysis software,establish the mechanical model for hydrogen adsorption tower,on hydrogen adsorption tower for static and dynamic analysis of stress,in the hydrogen adsorption geometry tower discontinuous regions,forgings,the inner wall on the head and cylinder weld,even under the head and cylinder weld,the inner wall of pipe under the forging,forging turning hand hole to take over parts of larger stress as head over the manhole,the overall stress intensity maxima occur over forging corner in hand hole,stress intensity value is 220.5MPa.For evaluating the path on the stress intensity range is linearized by using the ANSYS software,to obtain the stress intensity according to JB4732-95?steel pressure vessels analysis design standard ? provisions in the stress intensity range,then check their design fatigue curve data,get the number of allowed loops.The use of S-N fatigue curve and linear cumulative damage theory for checking fatigue evaluation and fatigue life,the results show that hydrogen adsorption tower to meet the next inspection cycle fatigue life requirements.At the same time,M20 on the adsorption tower bolt head manhole M24 bolts and a hand hole for routine estimation of stress strength evaluation and fatigue life,also meet the fatigue designcurves higher requirements.Finally,on the hydrogen adsorption tower for internal and external surface detection,wall thickness measurement,nondestructive testing,metallographic examination,hardness measurement and test,the test results are qualified.
