At present, the world is facing a test of the climate crises.Global warming caused by excessive carbon emissions has had a significant negative impact on human society and economic development.Studies have shown that land use contributes to the increase in carbon dioxide content in the global atmosphere after fossil energy combustion. As the fastest growing province in China, due to the rapid expansion of urban scale, accompanied by increased land and energy demand,Guangdong is facing increasing pressure on carbon emissions.Guangdong province is facing and needing to address following important issues urgently: properly understanding status of land use carbon emissions, and figuring out the relationship between economic growth and land use carbon emission, then looking for policies and measures which could promote economic growth while conducive to carbon emission reduction. Therefore, firstly, this article draws on man-land relationship theory, theory of sustainable development,low-carbon economic theory,Environmental Kuznets Curve hypothesis theory, decoupling theory on the basis of the review the relevant literature. From the perspective of land use and energy consumption, calculating the carbon emission of land use in Guangdong Province during 1995-2014,and analyzing the temporal variation characteristics of total carbon emissions, carbon emission intensity and average carbon emission intensity.Secondly, this paper explores the relationship between economic growth and carbon emissions from the long and short term by using the environmental Kuznets curve model and decoupling theory model.Thirdly, introduce the LMDI decomposition method to decompose the land use carbon emissions and study the influence of various factors on the land use carbon emission. Finally, present the corresponding policy suggestions to provide a reference for achieving the development of low carbon economy in Guangdong Province.Through the above study, the article is mainly draw the following conclusions:(1)land use carbon emission continued to increase in general, while the intensity of carbon emissions decreased gradually and the average carbon emission intensity continued to rise.(2)There is a long-term equilibrium "N" curve between economic growth and land use carbon emissions.(3)In the short term, the trend of decoupling between economic growth and land use carbon emission is "weak decoupling-expansion link-weak decoupling".(4)Under the premise of the carbon emission factor fixed, the five factors of which pull land use carbon emission growth are: economic level>land scale> population size;of which restrain carbon emission growth are: energy efficiency> energy structure.
