Recently foodborne diseases have becoming a public health concern.Chemical and microbiological properties are vital factors of bottled water. This experimental study was conducted in order to determine the physico-chemical and bacteriological qualities of different trademarks of bottled drinking mineral water.Randomly,60 water samples were collected from 6 brands at three sampling points(from the source factories, wholesaler and retailer). The samples were examined bacteriologically for Total Coliforms TC,Pseudomonas aeruginosa PS and analyzed for various physio-chemical qualities using standard methods of examination of drinking water. The results indicate that all of the tested samples from the source factories, wholesalers and retailer of all brands it is negative. The physio-chemical result showed that the mean values of all parameters were in the permissible limits of WHO guidelines drinking water and Chinese standard drinking water(GB 8538-2016).The Physio-chemical result showed that the mean values of all parameters were in the permissible limits of world health organization Guidelines for drinking water duality third edition incorporating the first and second addenda, and Chinese standard drinking water(GB 8538-2016).Comparison of the study results with reported values indicates acceptable agreement. However, the mean ± n SD value of bicarbonates,TDS,Ca,Mg,K,Sr,Cd,Ge,In and Bi were not significantly different from the respective concentrations provided on the labels of the bottles.Total alkalinity values were not considered in this study.Although the results of these studies conform to the standards still there is a need for more stringent standardization for the chemical composition of marketing bottled water and giving particular attention to quality control, labeling, and continuous monitoring.
