Aerospace products are the typical complex products. The main problems ofthe products assembly are as follows: the number of product components is toolarge. For the same product, there is no rational assembly sequence and some partsof the assembly details vary from person to person. Because of the less equipment,basically manua l and the non-standard operation and the whole paper-based process,it cannot provide a visual guidance to the products assembly. As a result, theproducts assembly is just relied on the experience of specific personnel. Therefore,it is urgent to have a kind of software to achieve the formation and simulationautomatically.In order to solve the above problems effic iently, based on the researches ofinternal and external literatures, this article analyzes some issues related to theassembly sequence planning, designs the algorithm of assembly sequence planningand also analyzes the technologies for the simulation assembly sequence. Besides,the simulation platform which inc luding the workshop resources, the assemblysequence planning and simulation system are built initially.First, this article builds the general plan of the assembly sequence planning andsimulation system. By analyzing the technology of directed graph, it deduces themethod that using the directed graph to express the assembly relations. Besides,based on the functional model, the overall scheme is designed. And it also makessure the support platform, the support database, and the logical relationships ofevery module.Second, based on the constraints of precedence relations, it creates thealgorithm of assembly sequence. Through the analys is of the constitutive relation ofthe assembly, several common semantic relations are summarized which illustratethe relationship between the connection semantics and the constraints of precedencerelation and test whether the constraints of precedence relations are omitted. Thenbased on the constraints of precedence relations, it builds the assembly model thatincludes the rules of optimizing the assembly sequence and the algorithm ofassembly sequence.Third, it analyzes the simulation problems of the assembly sequence that includes the workshop resources. The simulation model of the assembly sequencehas three parts: the assembly process model is built on the directed graph and ERgraph?the workshop layout model is based on the plan and the typical principle ofthe layout; the resources model which is created by the structure, size, and functionof the geometric model under the simulation environment. During the simulationprocess, it also analyzes the accessibility and comfort level for human during theassembly process. Then it designs the assembly path by considering the interventionof some other resources.Fourth, this article also makes the assembly sequence planning and simulationsystem software. By using the C++, it creates the algorithm of assembly sequence.By using the VB, it edits the settings of sequence simulation process and theinterface. Moreover, it makes the secondary development to DELMIA and thenrealizes the importing the assembly resources automatically.
