The structure of Chinese industry is undergoing a major update and adjustmentcurrently. Changes of the functions and properties of industry have occurred during thisprocess. Some of them have transferred from industry entities into industry heritage.They are the evidence and witness of Chinese industry development. The study in thisfield is still under a preliminary stage in china. The object of this paper is to give acritical review of the industrial heritage evaluation system and evaluation methods fromboth international and domestic aspect. And based on this review, a practical evaluationmethod will be proposed in order to give a significant, objective and comprehensiveevaluation of industry heritage.The article will give an overall evaluation of the ShouGang blast furnace III. Itconsist the heritage value, integrity, authenticity and outstanding universal value of theheritage. In addition, a specific evaluation over the buildings, structures and equipmentfacilities of the ShouGang blast furnace III will be emphasized.Through the study of current heritage evaluation methods, the applicablecharacteristics of each methods and current industry heritage evaluation condition needto be understood.After the preliminary assessment of the heritage evaluation of ShouGang blastfurnace III from the later part, the basic framework of the overall heritage evaluationcould be summarized. In addition, the fundamental specific details evaluation methodswill be established.In conclusion, the industry heritage evaluation system and methods is reviewed and studied. The industry heritage evaluation of ShouGang blast furnace III will providea reference and method for Chinese domestic heritage evaluation.
