Engineering project management, especially for large and complex project management has a strong professional, multi participant, interdisciplinary collaboration, large scale of investment, risk controllable degree difference and many other characteristics. From the whole life cycle of project management perspective, large and complex project management has certain difficulty, traditional project management schedule, cost, quality, security, contract, information and communication and coordination of seven factors it is difficult to get the balance. In view of this, the information management technology is applied to the engineering project management, implementation of development trend of construction project information management is gradually becoming the building industry.BIM (Building Information Modeling) technology as the development trend of the construction industry in the information age, has been studied and used in a wide range, which is the essence of information technology project management based on life cycle. Application of BIM technology helps to improve company operation efficiency and the level of project management, and reduce the use of project cost, improve the efficiency of project investment decision and information quality, and achieve resource conservation. Widely promote the development and application of BIM in project life cycle, will promote the informatization development of domestic construction industry fundamentally, finally realize the goal of development of informationization of construction and architectural industrialization.Based on the analysis of Tianjin Wanda center management present situation, the application of BIM technology to solve the optimization of existing in the planning, design, construction and later maintenance phase of the problem. In the basic theory, this paper describes in detail the technology principle and characteristics of BIM technology and its application, introduced the BIM technology in the application of project management in different stages, between BIM technology and IFC standard data, BIM technology in the application of participation in the project party, the specific application in different stages of project manager. In addition, the project management framework based on BIM technology, the implementation of the programme and the design of the application of BIM technology in project management, in order to realize the BIM technology project management based on life cycle.In the study of "BIM technology in the process of application of Tianjin Wanda center project management in different stages in the foundation of its existence in the use of traditional project management method for processing Tianjin Wanda center project in different development stages ot tne problem, using BIM tecnnology to optimize the management in different stages of the project method.
