With the expansion of the modern coal terminal's scale and the improvement of the loading and unloading process, as well as the diversification of the customer needs, the production organization of modern coal terminal becomes more and more complex. And the previous mode which is making and carrying out the operation plan depending on the experience has been unable to adapt to the development of modern production management. Under the guidance of the modern system science theory, this paper establishes a simulation and rehearsal model of the coal terminal's loading and unloading system using system simulation technology, in order to simulating, rehearsing, evaluating and optimizing the day and night work plan continuously, and analyzing the system bottlenecks during the busy-working period as well as working out the countermeasures against the accidental disturbance events which will affect the terminal's real-time loading and unloading. The paper mainly includes the following research:(1) Measuring the complexity of the short-cycle loading and unloading system of coal terminal. On the basis of deeply analyzing the complexity factors which affect the terminal's short-cycle loading and unloading, this paper quantitatively describes them using complexity measure theory, and puts forward three kinds of coal terminal logistics system's complexity in order to analyze and compare the complexity degree among the real object, simulation mode and mathematical model.(2) Establishing the simulation and rehearsal model of the short-cycle loading and unloading system of coal terminal. This paper puts forward the pushing mechanism of simulating and rehearing form the coupling relationship between terminal's information flow and material flow, then establishes the simulation and rehearsal model after determining the object boundary, element collection, functional module and input parameters, and finally finishes debugging the process as well as correcting the operating parameters.(3) Simulating, rehearsing and optimizing the short-cycle operation plan and analyzing the system bottlenecks. After simulating and rehearsing the day and night work plan dynamically and continuously, this paper reveals the possible problems in the implementation process in the future by analyzing the simulation data, and puts forward the system optimization scheme. Meanwhile, this paper also rehearses and analyzes the busy-working situation when the barges' coming density increases sharply in order to reveal the terminal's limit operation ability and system bottleneck.(4) Working out the countermeasures against the accidental disturbance events during the short-cycle loading and unloading process. On the basis of deeply analyzing the accidental disturbance events which affect the terminal's real-time loading and unloading, this paper puts forward a framework of interference management system from macroscopic to microcosmic, and establish real-time countermeasures when ships delay arriving the port or machines break down.The research achievements of this paper are closely related to the terminal's production and operation. They are useful to improving the science and rationality of terminal's operational plans, and can help to discover the system bottlenecks when terminal is busy working as well as reduce the influence of accidental disturbance events to the terminal's normal loading and unloading.
