The aircraft structure parts' design based on the 3-D model is rapidly developed and became the center of designing manufacturing process of aircraft structure parts.This paper is focused on integrating manufacturing process and 3-D model, improving the efficiency of parts manufacturing process design based on 3-D model, studying manufacturing process design of aircraft structure parts in model based definition environment, the content of this paper is as following:(1) Building 3-D model of structure part of aircraft. First, defining the 3-D manufacturing process model; Second, though searching the similarity between the key points of modeling, proposing steps of building the 3D manufacturing model. Third,building 3-D manufacturing process model a parting based on a part.(2) Studying the notation of 3-D model of aircraft structure part. Proposing manufacturing process notations based on attribution and in 3-D environment,respectively. By marking and managing the notation information on defined notation facet, a novel expression of manufacturing information based on processing information frame. Besides, expression of attribution tree, language and accuracy has been studied.(3) Proposing steps of process design of 3-D model based on characters. By assorting the characters of aircraft structure part, the steps of designing process base on such model can be determined. Thus, studying the characters and finding none geometry information would provide the critical information of determining cutting tool, cutting depth and ways.(4) Developing the process design system from CATIA V5, based on above studies.The system can automatically recognize the geometry and non-geometry characters of aircraft structure part. Based on character unit, then, the system will determine cutting tool, cutting depth and ways. Finally, creating 3-D process file based on the model.
