Ultra high-rise building has not only the feature of large volume, many layers and complex function, but the characteristics of lager fire hazard, high safety requireme nt and great social influence. The design of water supply and drainage in the ultra high-rise building is like the giant's “blood vessels”, which supplies the whole “water” and “nutrition”. Therefore, the importance of water supply and drainage design is self-evident.The project introduces the specific requirements of Code for Fire Protection Design of Tall Buildings and the author makes some understanding of those specifications. Besides, the fire characteristics and the design of water fire-fighting in the project are highlighted. The design of water fire-fighting has five ways: 1) indoor hydrant system water supply; 2) outdoor hydrant system water supply; 3) sprinkler system water supply; 4) gas fire-extinguishing system; 5) fire extinguisher configuration system. The item adopts new technology and energy, including the reuse of reclaimed water, the comprehensive utilization of rain, and the utilization of solar hot water system. In the end, the concept of green building was also put forward. The design of the item is divided into two sections. The main building,?section, is forty- nine layers in the ground and total 161.30 meters. The attached building, ?section, adopts frame shear wall structure and is thirty-one layers of ground and two layers of underground. The design of the project includes water supply, hot-water system, drainage system, fire hydrant water supply, sprinkler system, water spray system, gas fire-extinguishing system, reuse of reclaimed water and comprehensive utilization of rainwater. The design of water supply: the water supply system in the main building is divided into five areas in the vertical direction and the attached building four areas. The design of hot-water system: the hot water is offered above the twentieth room in the main building and the hot water utilizes the way of full-time mechanical circulation, the third area from twenty to thirty-three layers and the fourth area from thirty- five to forty-three uses the cold water provided by the corresponding partition, the fifth area from forty- five to forty-nine uses the centralized electric water heater. Drainage system: the main and attached building use wastewater and sewage diversion system. Hydrant water supply system: fire- fighting water supply system uses series of elevated pressure. The indoor hydrant network of the main building in the vertical direction is divided into three zones: the first zone from two to sixteen layers, the second zone from seventeen to thirty- four layers, the third zone from thirty- five to forty-nine layers and the thirty- fourth layer is the refuge floor, in which transfer water pumps and water tank are set up. Sprinkler system: the main building's sprinkler system is divided into two areas in the vertical direction. Water spray system: the boiler room and generator room of the basement uses the water spray s ystem. Gas fire-extinguishing system: the prefabricated type of seven fluorine propane of gas fire-extinguishing system is adopted. Reuse of reclaimed water: the high-quality miscellaneous draining water is collected from six to thirty-one floors and then is treated by the water treatment system to reuse in the attached building. Compre hensive utilization of rainwater: the roof rain is collected by the rainwater pipeline and then is treated to reuse for ground greens and road flushing. The project makes a comprehensive technical analysis of the typical issues in the whole design process which sums up the design emphasis, technical difficulties and national standard. The item gives the related proof to the controversial issues of the outdoor fire- fighting inlet and puts forward some new suggestions. The item makes two kinds of the economic and technical comparison of the common practice for the drainage design of air-defense basement in the ground floor of the ultra high- rise building. At the same time, we reach a more persuasive conclusion after the owner utilizes the system and make the technical development for it. The item comes up with some new views for the handling of rainwater overflow facilities in the roof of the ultra high-rise building.
