Rainwater cannot discharge by gravity when the receiving water level is higher than the elevation of discharge outlet top or the ground elevation of the drainage region is lower than the maximum level of the receiving water. In these situations, rainwater pumping stations are needed to be built. "Code for Design of Outdoor Wastewater Engineering(2014)" puts forwards some new requirements for the rainwater drainage design according to the recurrence interval for local flooding design. But the current calculation method of rainwater pumping station scale some disadvantages. So the calculation result of the rainwater pumping station scale needs to be further optimized.The paper follows the Code requirements, use the storm water model to determine the optimized scale of the rainwater pumping station. The main work is as follows:On the basis of the conventional method, select simplified SCS model and Info Works ICM software to explore the optimization of the rainwater pumping station scale. Demonstrate the different methods to calculate the rainwater pumping station scales with or without storage facility condition, then use the analytic hierarchy process to optimize the scales and the determine the optimized result. Analyzing the influence of the storage facility and pump working level on rainwater pumping station scale and operation. This paper can get following conclusions through the above research:(1) The conventional method, simplified SCS model and Info Works ICM modeling software both have advantages. They calculate the rainwater pumping station scale is reasonable. But they also have disadvantages, so it's better to consider comprehensively with the scales calculated by three methods.(2) Finally determine the Dongsi pumping station scale is 35m3/s and the Yanglan Lake pumping station scale is 77.9m3/s after applying the analytic hierarchy process.(3) Considering the storage facility can optimize the rainwater pumping station scale, so it's important to protect and restore the lake. In addition, reducing the pump working level of the rainwater pumping stations can improve the ability to cope with storm water. So it is suggested that the pump working level changes to a suitable level according to the precipitation anticipation before raining.
