With the fast development of economy and gradually improvement of the highway network,people'demands for travel become more and more diversified.For the situation that the development of social and economic is very hysteretic in mountain areas with rich advantage resources,and the service facilities of expressway service areas meet the demand of travelers difficultly,extend the service object from the traditional vehicles and driving personnel to the local mountain society,expand service area's function,and take the service area to the open mode both in the service of road users and in the service of local economic development.The local demands include the need for the convenient for local residents' s trip,the need for serving local tour industry and the need for serving local commerce circulation.Open service area can give full play to its radiating and driving role,promote the development of local social and economic around the open service area,and solve the problem of difficult trip for mountain inhabitants.First,this paper analyses the situation of local regions arround the highway service area,including social and economic,described the leading role of the highway service area to the economy of local society and the promotion of local advantage resources to service function in detail.And interpret the demand for services from the two perspectives of the local social economy and traveler.Secondly,through consulting the related literatures and data and investigating the existing service facilities,combined with service demand of road network and local economy,respectively sort out the enclosed function requirements and generalizes the function body needs of open mode.And put forward a effective model for function choice.In order to make the service area meet the traffic demands,and sustainable operation for a long time,and implement the goal of maximizing the utilization of services resources and optimizing the function allocation,using idea of the rank preference optimal ordering method,present the way of area orientation in the whole and the part.Mainly study the orientation method of the market trading area and the dining room in open.Then,based on the coupling relationship between the local social development and the service area,adopt the method of gravity model and others to measure the demand intensity of travel service within radiation service area of the local socialneeds driving by service area radiation.This article focuses on researching the requirement intensity of functional and the quantitative relationship between the demand intensity and the function scale of the service area,and then combining with the relevant design specifications,establish related model to calculate the scale of each functional areas,and obtain the total construction scale of the closed functions and open functions.Finally with a instance of the service area in Shuifu owing the unique geographical advantage and rich tourism resources between Zhaotong to Maliuwan on the G85 highways,analyzes its social economy development and the traffic composition,combined with data from the statistical yearbook and highway feasibility study report and other materials,calculate the intensity of residents travel and tourism within the radiation areas in detail,and measure the scale of demand of variant functions using the relevant design specifications.
