Based on the life cycle cost(LCC) concept, this dissertation proposes the models and methods on evaluation of low carbon benefits of PV and wind power generation. Firstly, the carbon emissions(or emission reduction) characteristics and economic benefits composition are analyzed in the following four aspects: revenue of generation capacity, cost of power generation, improvement efficiency of losses, cost of reserve capacity. And the corresponding low carbon benefit models and economic benefit models are established. Then, combined with the low carbon and economic characteristics of PV and wind power generation, the low-carbon comprehensive benefits evaluation model of PV and wind power generation is created thereby, and the concept of carbon emission payback period time is put forward. Then this evaluation model is applied in an 10 MW wind farm and an 10 MW PV power station for practicing. The life cycle of photovoltaic power plant is divided into the manufacture of photovoltaic systems, the components of photovoltaic transportation, PV power station construction and operation and maintenance of four stages. Accounting results show that the life cycle carbon reduction intensity of photovoltaic power plant is 667.45gCO2/kWh, and carbon payback time is 2.56 years. CO2 emissions from the manufacture of photovoltaic systems and the operational stage of PV are the highest among all stages of the life cycle, and the shares are 50% and 47%.The life cycle of the wind farm is divided into four stages, wind turbine production, wind turbine transportation, wind farm construction and operation and maintenance. Accounting results show that the life cycle carbon reduction intensity of this wind farm is 729.5gCO2/kWh, and carbon payback time is 0.31 year. CO2 emissions from the operational stage of wind turbine is the highest among all stages of the life cycle, and the share is 83%.Base on the result, series of comparison of economy and low carbon benefit between PV and wind power generation were given including the low carbon benefits, carbon emission and economic benefits of every stage, carbon emission and economic benefits of every step during the operation, carbon emission intensity of the whole life cycle and the carbon payback period(CPP). Further more, the sensibility of PV and wind power generation was studied and the index of the sensibility is consisted of light intensity, energy dissipation in manufacture, length of life cycle and the recovery of the material. The influence of different index to the low carbon comprehensive benefits was analyzed which can provide the reference for the assessment of PV and wind power generation.
