| In the early 1950 s, China learned the engineering education experiences from the Soviet Union, and built a system of engineering personnel adapted to the planned economy system. Under this system, university students needed to take grassroots practice in the last year of their undergraduate education. The goal was to enable students to immediately go to workshop to work. This system cultivated a lot of skillful people to the national economic construction. Since the Chinese economic reform, China has learned from America and highlighted the professional education in postgraduate stage. Under a system that has both characteristics of Soviet Union and America, most graduate students in China neither did a good research in their fields nor did a good job in their engineering practice. China has the biggest talents cultivating system of higher engineering education. However, the traditional teaching model does not adapt to the change from planned economy to market economy. One of the problems is that, the number of innovative talents and students’ manipulative ability cannot meet the personnel demand of enterprises. The teaching resource library still has many problems in its construction and application, especially the engineering teaching resource library. Because the engineering is a very professional subject concerning many aspects, it has been a big problem to apply it and to reform it. In this case, it will be very significant to study the construction of engineering teaching resource library.This paper mainly introduces the basic characteristics of CDIO-oriented internet teaching resource library and the development of CDIO at home and abroad, and a statement on the importance and innovativeness of building an international engineering teaching resource library. Then this paper also analyzes the CDIO-oriented internet teaching resource library. We finished the programing,building the data base and testing the system, according to the demand of engineering education, the design of resource library and relevant researches and books we read.After some adjustment in the system, the CDIO-oriented internet teaching resource library was finished building. By applying the CDIO method and online teaching resource library, and by guiding students to use the library to help them with their projects and advocating group learning, students’ learning ability, practice ability and innovative ability can be cultivated. This is a valuable experience for China’s higherengineering education reforming. We hope that this paper will be a beneficial reference for building the China’s online higher engineering education teaching resource library. |
