The electric power industry is the key areas of energy saving and emission reduction. The power grid, as one of the main part of it, related energy saving research has got long-term development in recent years. To implement the work of energy conservation and loss reduction and economical operation of power grid is to increase the energy efficiency of grid equipment. Improving the power grid equipment energy efficiency is not only related to the economic benefit of the masses of users and the electric power enterprises, but also the important embodiment of social benefit and energy consumption status. In-depth excavating the energy conserving potential of the power grid equipment can help to improve the level of energy efficiency of power grid equipment and reduce the loss of the equipment and unnecessary energy waste. It plays a positive role in the development of equipment energy-saving renovation project for the power grid and has a great significance in speeding up the construction of green power grid. Therefore, aiming at main equipment in the power, the article has researched the energy efficiency evaluation, in order to improve its energy efficiency.First of all, process and index system construction of energy efficiency evaluation of power grid equipment has been researched. According to the relevant guides and design specifications, from the perspective of macro level to grasp the regional power grid level of energy efficiency of power grid equipment as a whole and micro level to excavate deeply into energy saving potential of equipment, the index system of energy efficiency of individual equipment and equipment statistical of regional power grid has been respectively constructed. Hierarchical structure of energy efficiency evaluation index of power grid equipment has been modeled and the analytic hierarchy process has been used to calculate weight of the indicators. Considering the dialectical unity of quantitative and qualitative indicators, fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method has been used to calculate energy efficiency index of qualitative indicators and benchmarking method has been used to calculate energy efficiency index of quantitative indicators. Respectively aiming at the qualitative indexes and quantitative indexes, analyses of examples have been given to verify the correctness and effectiveness of the proposed method, laying the foundation for software development of energy efficiency monitoring and evaluation system of power grid equipment.Based on the proposed method in the article, software of energy efficiency monitoring and evaluation system of power grid equipment has been developed. Software design has been divided into system overall design, software function design, database and interface design and display design. The functions of the software are management and maintenance of the equipment parameters, index weight maintenance, data import and energy efficiency calculation, online energy efficiency evaluation and suggestion, regional online evaluation, offline evaluation and equipment selection guide and so on.
