Research And Application On Testing Technology Of Relay Protection For Smart Substation Based On RTDS

The smart substation has realized the network of the secondary system and increased the intelligent equipment on the local layout way of the process which is based on relay protection system. These characteristics are different from the conventional substation, which not only makes the previous portable protective relay test device, the traditional dynamic physical system and the conventional digital simulation experimental method cannot meet the needs of the development of smart substation, but also bring the new problems such as the difficulty of the organization of the integrate and the test of the differential protection. For this purpose, this paper has focused on the problem of the integrated testing of the smart substation secondary system. Study on the testing project and the testing method of relay protection system in the smart substation. Mainly to do the following work:Firstly, according to the specific requirements of the relay protection system in the integrate testing of the smart substation, Study a new testing technology of relay protection on the smart substation based on RTDS. And describe the overall construction and the specific implementation scheme of the integrated test method. Also comparative analysis the advantages of the new testing technology which compared with the dynamic physical system.Secondly, build the 500 kV bus-bar protection and transformer protection simulation test model by using RTDS. Complete the collection of available simulation parameters for transmission lines and transformers, also verified the dynamic performance feasibility when used on the testing of relay protection for smart substation by the simulation.Finally, field participate the integration testing of a 500 kV Smart Substation in Hunan, and has complete the bus-bar protection, transformer protection and the line protection of the dynamic performance. Improving the test capability of the relay protection system on the smart substation, and lays a good foundation for the safe and stable operation of the 500 kV smart substation.
