With the rapid development of economy, the transportation industry booms. It stimulates the increase of the vehicle demands, so as to result in the more and more serious of traffic safety problem. Therefore, we should improve the driving qualities of drivers, regulate driving behaviors, learn to deal with emergency situations and prevent from traffic accidents, which is an effective way to solve the problem of traffic safety. While driving training and driving safety education are still limited to the traditional driving training institutions. In order to prevent the traffic accidents effectively, we should make a breakthrough in the way we learn the vehicle driving and have the driving safety education.In recent years, with the rapid development ofvirtual reality technology, we can explore the vehicle simulation technology. Using simulation technology can easily help us to select the vehicle model and simulate the environment, which would replace the dangerous test to some degree and improve the security. It is verified that the virtual reality technology has been applied to the urban traffic safety education effectively, which has broad application prospects in the traffic safety education.Currently, virtual reality simulation technology is applied to the research on simulating the driving behaviors. It often uses the videos completed in advance to guide drivers to operate vehicles. Under this circumstance, these scenarios have low flexibility and a lot of limitations. In addition, there exists advanced vehicle driving simulation system. But these systems are often expensive, lack of universality and have a short software life cycle. Especially for the vehicle driving scene demonstration, there are few practical systems used to build the driving scene.This thesis focuses on implementing vehicle function simulation and driving scene demonstration. This system can not only help drivers to understand the vehicle features and performance, but also help prevent traffic accidents and avoid bad behavior during driving. It is of great significance for driving learning and traffic safety educations. The main parts are:(1)Propose overall framework and the module design, and create vehicleoperating models based on vehicle dynamics theory by using geometric modeling, physical modeling, behavioral modeling and other modeling techniques.(2) Divide function system based on the overall design framework, abstract and simplify the attributes, operations, and behaviors of each system. Then establishfunctional simulation mathematical models of each system, so as to achievefunctional simulation ofv ehicles.(3)Design and implementthe driving scene demonstration systems based on functional simulation systems, so as to form a complete vehicle driving systems.(4) Constructing the terrain and weather environment in driving scene demonstration system, and design and implement four different road terrain and a variety of weather scenarios, to provideusers with a more realistic driving experience scene.
