As the main artery of national economy and an important means of transport, the construction of railway has a profound impact on China's economy and people's lives. And the state of locomotive is directly related to the safety of railway operations. In the past few years, it is also a stage of rapid development of railway industry, and high-speed railway construction and operation are also preliminary results show. In this new situation, improving railway safety and prevention system, and establishing the reliable equipment protection, is conductive to the development of the railway to run faster and better. With the increasing speed of the locomotive, a lot of less prone to security problems for motorcycle parts will be revealed at low speed. It is a threat to safe operation. At home, after the locomotive into the garage, according to the motormen and the trainman's description of analog fault phenomenon, and according to their own technology and operational experience to judge the cause of the malfunction, the maintenance personnel deal with the locomotive security maintenance and troubleshooting. So it will bring a lot of hidden trouble for "safe operation".With the development of embedded technology, microcomputer, field bus technology, and GPRS network technology, to establish a security monitoring system is possible, which is more real-time, more convenient for operation, and more comprehensive for function. In view of the need of security monitoring management and network for the locomotive electrical equipment, and rely on China Mobile's GPRS network, a wireless and real-time monitoring, remote-supporting system for the locomotive electrical equipment is built.The system consists of three parts, the RTU (Remote Terminal Unit), the SCADA (Supervisory Control & Data Acquisition), and the IDU (Intelligent Display Unit). The RTU, which is used to collect data, preprocess data, and control of output for the field signal, assume the "Receive and Send" work between the SCADA and monitor points. The SCADA is used to generally process data from the RTU, and send data after processed to PC in a high speed. It also can assist to achieve fault diagnosis and data storage. CAN bus is used to communicate between SCADA and RTU. Based on Windows CE operating system, the IDU based on Windows CE, which achieved data exchange with the SCADA using shared memory, control the GPRS module through serial communication to realize remote support. At the same time, as user terminals, it has the functions of the fault alarm, data storage, and information display.The overall structure of the system program is given. The detailed design and debug of hardware for system is completed. The embedded operating system is customized. Application software design results are given. And the remote communication capability of the system is verified by experiment.
