Study On Huguanghuiguan And Dongshuimen Historic District Conservation And Development From The Perspective Of Historic Urban Landscape

During the 30 years of reform and opening up, China has experienced the most complexed and the largest urbanlization in the world. Currently the urbanization rate has been more than 50%, which will remain continue a high-speed process for a long period of time in the future. The city evolution process in twentieth Century is summed up as "the great development and destruction" by Beijing Charter. In twenty-first Century, this process has become more and more intense. Demolition of the old city, under the influence of the traditional thinking of urban regeneration, a large number of urban heritages has dispeared in the process of urbanization. At the same time, the traditional identity of the city, the city's cultural context, social contradictions intensified. Urban historic heritage is the embodiment of the urban characteristics, the carrier of urban culture and the link of social continuity. Connecting evelopment and conservation of urban historical heritage has been an important issue in the current urban planning.Historic district is the most complex and active area among all kinds of the urban historic heritages, which is the focus of the current urban development and conservation. In 2011, the United Nations Educational, scientific and Cultural Organization adopted the "Recommendation on the Historic Urban Landscape", which provided a new idea for the historic district conservation. This thesis will take the urban historic district as the research object to develop the related theory of the urban historical landscape, trying to solve the problems of China's historic district conservation and put forward the localization of this theory.Based on the comprehensive investigation and documentation, in view of the current reality of the plight of Chinese urban historic block protection, system cause and development trend, This thesis explains the core ideas of historic urban landscape of dig its connotation and put forward the universal conservation methods for the historic distict. At the same time, this thesis further combined the HUL theory with the planning practice of Huguang guild hall and the Watergate East Historic District. This thesis includes the introduction of the historic district, the evaluation of heritage elements' values, strategies of the overall conservation, the conservation of diversified value and the living state conservation in order to practice the methods, to improve the current historic district conservation system, and to provide ideas to explore specific strategies.The thesis is divided into six chapters:The first chapter is an introduction, mainly elaborating the research background, purpose and significance of this paper. Through the domestic and foreign related research, we can understand the main academic frontier and shortcomings of the research, so as to specify the object and scope of study.The second chapter examines the historical block conservation course and predicament, explores the root of this system, clears the historic block conservation problems and exploration direction, which provides a train of thought for the HUL.The third chapter analyzes the theoretical connotation of city historical landscape. Firstly, the chapter introduces the origin and definition of HUL, analyzes the concept of multidimensional attributes, including category, ideas and methods. Then, based on definition of the HUL, the chapter constructs the system of three levels of factors, including heritage ontology, traditional background level, contemporary background level. At the same time the chapter also extracts the three concepts, dynamic integrity and diversity. The historic district is recognized as urban diversity and dynamic characteristics.The fourth chapter puts forward the method of historical city landscape planning of historic district. The method based on three levels of elements, combined with three concepts, history block characteristics associated with cognition and value diversity evaluation and forms some strategies for the conservation and development of the balance, which constructs the cognitive method, evaluation method and planning method.The fifth chapter is the empirical research on cognitive method and evaluation method of city historical landscape application. The Huguanghuiguan and Dongshuimen historic distict of the cognitive relevance of the relationship between elements and characteristic value and value type comb.The sixth chapter is the empirical research on the conservation of urban historical landscape about the planning and application of Huguanghuiguan and Dongshuimen historic distict. In the heritage level, the methods focus on the conservation of the historical, artistic and scientific value and authenticity conservation strategy is proposed; In the traditional context level,the methods focus on the conservation of basic value, cultural value, social value and integrity and diversity of the conservation strategy is proposed;In the contemporary context levels, the methods focus on practical value, cultural value and social value and the living state inheritance strategy is proposed.The seventh chapter is the conclusion part of the paper, including the full text of the innovation points, the lack and the future of this research.
