In recent years, with rapid development of civil aviation, airport pavement, especially runways, need to meet stricter requirements. For instance, A380 and the Boeing 747 make higher requests for safe operation on airport pavement. Given that current pavement management of national airports is largely dependent on experience and management modes fall behind, especially the management mode of large-scale airports, digitalization of airport management becomes the main developing field in the future. It has significant meaning that an airport pavement management system which combines computer technology with current maintenance management has functions of maintenance, evaluation and making decisions.The dissertation has the support of Research on Digitalized System of Airport Operation Assurance which belongs to the Civil Aviation Administration Scientific Foundation of China,using the visualization technology of the GIS and database technology of the SQL Server, and refers to related technical standards of civil aviation pavement. Besides, the VS2010 technology is used in the research of digitalization of airport pavement. The specific work and achievements are carried out as follow:1. Given the low level of airport digitalization and small amount of data, compare and analyze different PCI(Pavement Condition Index) prediction model, and select gray prediction model to predict. As for largely and moderately repaired pavement, select traffic and subgrade CBR to update the model.2. PCI(Pavement Condition Index) and IRI(International Roughness Index) are important indexes in apparent performance of pavement, and they are apparent performance of pavement structure. The dissertation begins with the attenuation rule of PCI, combining with division principles of two phrases, finding the critical value of smooth development and rapid development, and view it as an important basis to make decisions about pavement maintenance.3. With comprehensive effects of load, traffic and environmental factors, a lot of problems would occur on airport pavement. The dissertation is based on the analysis of failure mechanism and relative maintenance strategies, referring the transform relation between the damage volume and project volume, considering cost and benefit of different maintenancesolutions, and build optimized model according to maintenance solutions to get the best maintenance effects with limited funds.4. 2D and 3D models of airport runways is built by using the SuperMap desktop software of geographical information system, AutoCAD and 3Dmax software. Functional modes of PCI thematic map, PCI inquiry, 3D scenes browsing, and measurement are developed by the combination of 2D and 3D models and the functions of their secondary development.5. Based on the project of Kunming Changshui International Airport Runway Digitalization, the dissertation uses B/S frame to develop following functions of the system.:1) PCI calculation. PCN calculation, calculation of left usage time of pavement; 2) PCI performance prediction; 3) optimal selection of maintenance solutions; 4) GIS 2D development; 5) GIS 3D development: scenes browsing, basic measurement; 6) data maintenance: update and store data.
