Modeling and Finite Element Analysis(FEA) of the structure is an important means of aircraft structural analysis. In the condition of the existing entity and the unknown dimensions, it is necessary to apply reverse engineering to the process of modeling and analysis. CATIA is chosen to be the main software in the study of reverse engineering.A320 aircraft rudder entity, which is placed in the rudder laboratory, is the basis of the whole paper. Firstly, make modeling by two methods. One method is to get data of rudder surface sampling points through measuring equipment according to the principle of reverse engineering. After getting the data processed and obtaining curve fitting in MATLAB, import the curve into CATIA and build modeling in it. The other method is to establish modeling according to three-view theory with the assistance of digital camera system, combined with access to aircraft manual information. Then the sequence planning and path planning of virtual assembly is presented. And the virtual assembly of part modeling in CATIA is finished. Finally the rudder modeling, which is well assembled, is meshed globally and locally in Advanced Meshing Tools module. And the modeling is loaded and briefly analyzed in Generative Structural Analysis module.
