Traffic surveillance lens is an important part of the intelligent transportation system. With the continuous improvement of the lens processing, assembly, test level and the industrial CCD camera, optical performance requirements on traffic surveillance lens are also rising. To obtain high-quality images for traffic surveillance, the article tries to analysis the correlation between industrial CCD camera and traffic surveillance lens performance. A near-symmetric configuration, adjusting structural parameters of the special component and balancing day and night confocal plane was applied to achieve large aperture, large target and day and night con-focal, and excellently controls the aberration and defocus amount. The system makes multi-configuration optimization design in visible wavelengths and near-infrared wavelength 0.85um. Furthmore, the value of the through focus is less than 0.005 mm and the MTF of visible wavelengths and near-infrared wavelength 0.85um beyond 0.3 at a spatial frequency of 130 lp/mm in full field. Finally, the article makes a analysis of the ghost and tolerance on optical system, then it can effectively avoid the decrease of imaging quality in the manufacturing process by researching and controlling the critical element, and estimates the feasibility of industrial production.
