Intelligent Electronic Device,IED as an important part of substation bay level,plays a vital role in the on-line monitoring system of substation.Due to the constant innovation of the computer,electronics and communication technology,a variety of intelligent electronic devices are into one after another.But different manufacturer’s equipments are varied in the communication interface and communication protocol,so extra conversion interface in the hardware and transformation protocol in the software are needed.However IEC61850 standard unified intelligent electronic devices from the communication interface and communication protocol.So the study to the intelligent electronic device that accorded with the IEC61850 standard has become the primary task of the smart grid construction.First of all,the thesis summarizes the research background and meaning of the IED of intelligent box-type substation,introduces filter,transform,et al.digital signal processing knowledge,and communication modes,communication protocols,et al.communication knowledge which establish the theory foundation of data processing and data communication.Second,the thesis gives the overall design scheme of the IED of intelligent box-type substation.In the hardware,RS485 communication unit used to implement information communication with monitoring terminal,and ethernet communication unit used to implement information communication with monitoring host are provided.And also the minimum system consisted of MCU,power,clock and reset,et al.is provided.In the software,on the one hand,using the RS485 communication mode accorded with the Modbus protocol realizes the information interaction with monitoring terminal.And the corresponding FFT,FIR et al.signal processings are done.On the other hand,using the ethernet communication mode accorded with the IEC61850 standard protocol completes data communication with monitoring host.Finally,the experimental platform is setted up at the scene of the engineering.The test experiments,data processing and data communication are implemented.The experimental results show that the data accuracy is higher.Voltage and current can reach level 1.Temperature deviation is in between of 1 and 2°C.Humility deviation is within 5%RH.In addition,the data communication is stable.The command can be transmitted accurately.The data can be uploaded in real time.
