With people research and development on BIM technology,more and more bridge designers make the bridge project combination with BIM,In the process of mutual integration,,advantages will be displayed as well as the defects.This paper expounds how to design and application for bridge projects based on BIM platform by means of the following aspects:Firstly,refer to the relevant literature at home and abroad,to serach the origin of BIM,and summed up the advantages of BIM.In addition,investigated the application status and future development trend of BIM in the United States,Britain,South Korea and other developed countries of BIM.Investigate and analyze the development of BIM in China.Finally,it introduces several mainstream core software of BIM;Secondly,combine with BIM software,BIM technology is how to carry out the line selection and scheme selection in the planning stage of bridge project;two-dimensional diagram,engineering quantity in the design stage;construction simulation in construction stage and bridge maintenance in operation and maintenance stages,and summarizes several characteristics of BIM,for example,information,coordination,visualization etc;Thirdly,combined with the example of butterfly arch bridge,make the BIM core modeling software CATIA to construct the 3D model of the bridge.Summarized the modeling method of "skeleton + template",and explains how to use the 3D model to collision detection,the calculation of precise engineering quantity,and the function of two-dimensional plane drawing;Fourthly,the finite element analysis software is used to Midas Civil calculate the overall stiffness,strength and stability of butterfly arch bridge.The influence of the stiffness of arch rib,the angle of arch rib and the load condition on the whole stability of the bridge is studied;Fifthly,this paper studies how to manage the structural safety information of bridge project based on BIM platform,and builds the butterfly arch bridge management system based on BIM.For the bridge inspection and maintenance personnel made a bridge inspection and maintenance applications,making the bridge inspection and maintenance more informative and fast.People can view the bridge safety information and records,upload the bridge security in anytime and anywhere?Finally,according to the problems of BIM technology in the design and application of butterfly type arch bridge,this paper puts forward the improvement of BIM technology in the bridge project.
