With the rapid development of Web GIS technology,Web electronic charts are applied more and more common in the marine field.Traditional Web electronic charts technology is based on plugins.The users are required to download and update the charts in time to keep the service being operated normally.The approach of achieving the chart service is slightly cumbersome and browser compatibility issues and security risks are existed.The cross-browser problems were solved under the Web electronic charts service based on raster tile technology,but such technology is still unable to meet the needs of users for high resolution and interactive chart services.The emergence of vector tile technology provides a new solution to solve the problems of interactive,high resolution,custom chart display style and other issues of Web chart service.The methods of generating,publishing and real-time rendering of vector tile electronic chart were researched in this thesis.And,the application of vector tile technology in inland waterway monitoring was also explored.The major works of this thesis has been done as follows:Open source software is adopted to achieve the generation,publishing and real-time rendering of the vector tile electronic chart and to explore the application of vector tile technology in inland waterway.Moreover,a new method is provided by the software for the development of Web electronic charts.The major works has been done as follows:(1)Vector tile generating technologyThe data organization forms of the S-57 electronic chart and the Shapefile are studied.Based on GIS platforms,the data format are discussed.With the help of laboratory platform and open source GIS software,the data format conversion between S-57 and Shapefile is realized.In accordance with the related specifications of vector tiles,the data organization models of vector tile of electronic charts are researched.Furthermore,under the assistance of the open source map server GeoServer,the chart data vector seeding and releasing are actualized.(2)OpenLayers 3 based rendering of vector tile chartsThe service framework of Web electronic charts based on vector tiles is researched and set up.The real-time rendering technology of electronic chart tile data at the client side is researched based on OpenLayers 3 API.The chart objects are displayed by layers,the object display styles are designed in accordance with S-52/CJ-52 standards.To utilize the advantages of vector tile,the real-time display style switching technology is researched,and as an example,the day and night display mode of electronic charts is realized.(3)The application of vector tile Web electronic chartsBased on the data service interface of ships and beacons information of inland waterways,OpenLayers 3 API is applied to furtherly realize the monitoring applications of the ships and beacons on the Web electronic charts.This paper studies the application of vector tile technology in inland waterway monitoring,which solves the large-scale request of vector chart data and the real-time switching of chart styles,and has a positive meaning for the development of Web electronic chart.
