The synchronizer has the advantages of reducing the shock and noise and lengthening the life of the transmission,and has been widely used in the transmission of MT,AMT and DCT.It is difficult to meet the demand of the modern market by using traditional design method,which also has a long period.Therefore,the development of a dedicated parametric design system of synchronizers based on common CAD software has great practical significance.In this paper,the single-conical synchronizer of the automotive with lock-ring is taken as the research object.The parametric modeling of the synchronizer components and the optimal design of the synchronizer with the maximum life span are studied respectively.A dedicated parametric design system of the synchronizer is developed.Based on the theoretical research and the data of a transmission design example,the feasibility of this system is verified.The main research is as follows::(1)The parametric design method of parts is deeply studied.Taken the method based on parametric application driven,combined with the secondary development of UG and starting from the establishment of mathematical model of plane involute,the parametric design of synchronizer lock ring,spline hub,and sleeve and ring gear are completed in this paper by using UG/Open Grip.(2)Optimized design of synchronizer with maximum life is researched.The formula of synchronization time is obtained by analyzing the dynamics system of synchronizer;Combined with adhesive wear theory and M-B fractal theory,the formulas for calculating wear amount of synchronous ring are obtained;Finally,In order to improve the life of the synchronizer,the synchronizer optimization model is established by considering the limitation of synchronizer design,these lay a foundation for the subsequent development of parametric system.(3)A parametric design system of single-cone synchronizer with lock-ring is developed.Based on NX 8.0,the parametric design system is established,by taking VC++ 2010 and UG/Open as development tools,including the key issues of setting system environment variables,designing user menus,customizing user dialogs,API calls GRIP,data storage and automatic transmission,assembling quickly.(4)The system test is carried out based on the data in the examples to complete the design of the 3D model of the key parts of 5-6 speed synchronizers.Finally,the 3D model was assembled and the interference was automatically detected by GRIP programming,which greatly shortened the design time of the synchronizer.Through the example test,the system has been proved to have practical value.The system integrates optimization design and parametric modeling,which effectively shortens the design cycle,greatly improves the design efficiency and has a great value in engineering application.At the same time,the project lays the foundation for CAE,and the proposed design method is useful to a certain extent for modeling other types of synchronizer.
