Research On Protection And Development Of Mingqing Street Of Historical Blockin Manchuan Ancient Town

Historical block,the long-term deposit of time,is an outcome of the collective intelligence from the local people and to some extent,it is the concentrated reflection of folk culture and material civilizationduring the long-term changing development in an area,which has abundant cultural relics to completely express the real historical information of cities and towns.Its protective development is a necessary measure to the local historical and cultural inheritance.Historical blocks generally locate in the important areas of cities and towns,however,with the development of social economy,the development and transformation of cities and townsare carried out simultaneously,which seriously influences the originaltownscape of historical blocks.As the most traditional buildingsantiquated and dilapidated,while people anticipate to improve living conditions,as a result,modern buildings emerged in large numbersaregradually devouring traditional buildings,as well as destroying the townscape pattern of traditional historical blocks.As a result,precioushistorical culture resources are fading away.Therefore,the protection and development research of historical blockbecomes particularly important.Mingqing Street,historical block in Manchuan ancient town,located in the south of Qinling Mountains,southeast of Shanyang County,Shangluo of Shaanxi,comes into being for the developed water transport,and also prosperous merchandise trade,which is the intersection of north-south culture of China.Historical block has the unique historic feature,wherein there is the biggest building group of Mingqing guild hall in Shaanxi.This paper comprehensively applied literature review,field research,analysis and comparison as well as generalization and summarization based on investigation,to systematically study the current situations of Mingqing Street,including geographic position,historical development,folk culture,street layout and spatial form of traditional residential buildings,and also tosummarizecontradictionin terms of the protection and development of Mingqing Street.Finally,effectiveand sustainablemeasures on protection and development are proposedcorrespondingly in this paper.
