With the rapid development of the maritime industry,ship navigation system plays an increasingly important role in ensuring safe navigation at sea,increasing the level of automation and other aspects of the ship.During operation of this system,users often need to process large amounts of information in a short time and quickly respond with decision,which easily lead to generate too high cognitive load even the phenomenon of overload.In this way,the efficiency and reliability of the whole system will be affected.This thesis is to attempt to reduce the cognitive load level of the ship navigation display and control system software interface through designing and evaluation of this interface.The main research work is as follows:Firstly,the status of software interface based on cognitive load and ship navigation display and control system software interface will be analyzed,finding the problems.The concept of cognitive load and its influencing factors will be studied,proposing software interface design principles that can control the cognitive load effectively;And with reference of domestic and foreign software interface design criteria,the design standards of this system software interface will be summarized,so they can direct optimize design of the ship navigation display and control system.Secondly,by means of the study of cognitive load evaluation criteria,the evaluation system of the ship navigation display and control system was constructed.Through a comparative analysis of several measurement methods of the cognitive load,a experimental procedure of cognitive load multi-criteria comprehensive measurement method was established,thus avoiding the experimental errors caused by single evaluation method.Then,original system interface is evaluated by this measure,which found the problems of the original interface.For the problems in the original interface and based on the software interface principles of cognitive load theory and criteria,three color patterns of the interface and the floating window of the system were designed,and interactive design tools were applied to achieve the design and interaction of this system interface prototype.Finally,using the cognitive load multi-criteria comprehensive measurement method to measure the cognitive load of optimized system software interface,established comprehensive evaluation model which based on entropy and variation coefficient fuzzy,thereby to achieve a comprehensive evaluation of the cognitive load level of the original and optimized system software interface,and also proved that the cognitive load level of the optimized interface is lower than the original interface.
